Past Shows

Gail Waimon | It Is What It Is
May 12-June 23, 2025

Gail has always been passionate about creative expression, whether through photography, collage, poster design, greeting cards, centerpieces, or handcrafted leather jewelry. Her deep love for art is evident in everything she creates. This exhibit primarily features her photography—both realistic and abstract—along with a few collages. Since 2009, Gail has proudly served as co-chair of the Art Gallery committee, designing six posters each year.

Alan Gorman | Abstract Spaces- Observed & Imagined
March 31-May 12, 2025

Allan believes there is magic in our built environments- in the edges where materials, light and colors converge. He finds special joy getting lost in the details, geometries, and intersections that invite our eyes to journey through and beyond.

Rochelle Rubin | Shoot the Moon
February 17-March 31, 2025

Rochelle crafts paintings inspired by memories, events, emotions, and experiences. Whether triggered by a piece of music, a fleeting glance, a world event, or an overheard conversation, her artistic journey navigates from intuition to recognition, to obliteration and back. Within these moments of clarity, distinct shapes, colors, patterns, marks, and lines emerge, giving life to abstract paintings that convey ideas of protection, containment, escape, joy, and opposition. She aims to delve into the realms of the past and present, as well as the tangible and imaginary. The narrative often revolves around emotions that can inspire the viewer to moments of curiosity and contemplation.

January 6-February 17, 2025

Janice Belove | Painted Printed

Janice’s paintings and drawings are based on close observation of the world around her. She finds visual humor in situations and draws on contemporary themes. Compositions are often influenced by the way we live, and the randomness of what is left behind. Detailed shapes, vivid color, and paths around and through space define the work. Her biggest influence, particularly in her iPad work, has been David Hockney. Her interest was piqued when she saw how he used the iPad to capture a unique moment in time.

Debbie Galant | In Search of Lost Time

Debbie was, for a very long time, a writer who did a little drawing on the side. She wrote the Jersey column for the New York Times, published three novels, founded Baristanet and, with her son, created an award-winning podcast, The Chemo Files, about her bout with breast cancer. In 2018, Debbie started a serious art practice. Much of her work, including many of the paintings in this show, was produced sitting on her sofa using an iPad.

From Pastel to Porcelain: Linda K. Levi
October 15-December 16, 2024

I have created art since I held my first red Crayola crayon. I have been blessed to have had two shows at TBJ in the past, highlighting my watercolor and acrylic paintings. I am delighted to have the opportunity to exhibit my most recent artwork. During Covid, I began to integrate my watercolors with pastels, and then pastels took off. This past year, I have developed my mosaic work with various 3-dimensional porcelain objects, such as flowers, candy, and shoes to name a few, and lots of sparkle! I am honored and delighted to announce that all of the proceeds from any sales from my show will be donated to Kibbutz Nir Oz.
