Resetting the Table

April 7 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

When it comes to the topics of Israel, antisemitism, and the current war, the discussion is multifaceted, and it is crucial that we are prepared to talk about it. While so many of us feel aligned with supporting Israel as she continues to defend herself and free the hostages taken on that horrific day of October 7, there is no doubt that conflicting conversations have come up within families, groups of friends, workplaces and communities. There is so much at stake for the Jewish people, and one way we can play a meaningful part is to learn to speak with civility to those who believe differently.

As we have in previous years, we are partnering with Resetting the Table (RTT). Resetting the Table is a nonpartisan organization dedicated to strengthening democracy and civic life by giving communities the tools necessary to respectfully communicate, deliberate, and dialogue across political divides, particularly in the Jewish community.

This workshop will be for congregants to engage in open conversation on charged issues and learn the tools to effectively engage in dialogue in their own lives, rooted in ethics, values, and Jewish tradition. Regardless of how you might feel at this moment, we know that conversations will only become more difficult, and we encourage each of you to consider joining us. If you have already participated in this program once with the focus on American politics, please feel free to join us again.
