She previously served the Congregation B’nai Jeshurun community beginning in 2014 as Cantorial Intern, under the mentorship of Cantor Stahl and was named Assistant Cantor upon her ordination from HUC-JIR in 2017.

A native New Yorker, Cantor Fishbein grew up on the Upper West Side in Manhattan. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Religious Studies in 2009 from Trinity College in Hartford, CT. Upon graduating, Cantor Fishbein worked in Advertising Sales as an Account Manager at Vibrant Media. In 2012, she began her studies at the Debbie Friedman School of Sacred Music at the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion (HUC-JIR) in New York where she received her Master’s Degree in Sacred Music in 2016. Cantor Fishbein served as a Chaplain Intern at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and as Summer Cantorial Resident at Central Synagogue. She was the cantorial recipient of the Tisch-Star fellowship in visionary synagogue leadership (2014-17) and remains involved with the Tisch Alumni Fellows network. She is also extremely passionate about Israel and participated in the iFellows: Masters Concentration in Israel Education program through the iCenter.

This year, Cantor Fishbein is excited to join the 2024-25 cohort of the LEAP fellowship through CLAL and UPenn. She is thrilled to be serving on the American Conference of Cantors Executive Board for the 2023-2026 term.
