Your Spiritual Home with a Brand New Look

As we approached TBJ’s 175th year as a congregation, it was time to take stock of who we are and how we represent ourselves, and to visually articulate our values in a way that resonates with our community. The previous message was never wrong or different, and the message ultimately remains the same. But in our current day and age, we wanted to rebrand to make sure the Congregation’s look is as accessible as the messages we provide. When we think of messages for our congregation, we think of home, relevance, substance, purpose, direction, empathy, people, God, and of course, Israel.

Inspired by the Ner Tamid which has been a symbol for TBJ from its early days in Newark to the present, the new logo is a modern take on the motifs that decorate the fixture. It is a visual of the flourishing light that TBJ creates within its community, full of symbolism and warmth. The circle of life and a Star of David spans generations, and a circle never stops. It looks ahead to an extraordinary future because we are committed to continuing to perpetuate who we are.

As we move through our 175th year as a community, we are proud to unveil the culmination of our joint efforts with 7 Layer Studio’s creative team, under the guidance of the TBJ Marketing Task Force & Board of Trustees. Anchored in the strength and joy of togetherness, and bonded by empathy and pride. We have each other. And we are ready for the next 175 years.
