Lunch & Challah Programs

The Rabbi Barry H. Greene Early Childhood Center strives to be a peanut, tree-nut, and sesame free environment.

Lunch Program

Our Parents’ Association offers a Lunch Program Monday through Thursday for all Playschool 2’s through Kindergarten students. On Fridays, our ECC or student families provide a light Shabbat lunch. There are two opportunities for families to enroll in the Lunch Program: once in September and once in January.

The success of our program relies on the help of our families in order to distribute the meals to each class. If you sign-up your child for lunch, it is mandatory to volunteer. Volunteers can be parents, grandparents, caregivers, etc. Every class will have an assigned Shabbat/PA Lunch Program Parent who will reach out with more details.

Finally, If anyone is interested in volunteering to be a bi-monthly Lunch Captain, please reach out to  tbjlunchlady@gmail.com  It is a very minor time commitment and a fun, easy and important way to volunteer and see your children at school. The commitment is approximately 45 minutes, one day every other week.

As always, thank you in advance for helping to make this program such a huge success.

Please feel free to contact us with any further questions at  tbjlunchlady@gmail.com

Challah Program

Shabbat in each ECC class is a special time hosted by one of our children and their family. Our TBJ Women’s Association offers the convenience of providing the challahs for Shabbat celebrations in the children’s classes. Participation in the program is a small fee, which also helps raise funds for our Women’s Association.

Additionally, you may also enroll in the weekly take-home Challah Program.
