Middle Meaning

May 28 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

During each gathering we will discuss the uniqueness of this stage of life. No matter our age, we may be those who are balancing raising children while caring for older family members. We may be looking toward retirement or wondering what the next working years of our life will look like. We may be struggling with an empty nest or struggling with our adult children returning home. We may be watching our adult children partner and make their own life choices. Perhaps we are considering downsizing, moving or spending time away in the winters—no matter the particulars; this is a stage with so much uncertainty, possibility, and opportunity for wisdom.

Middle Meaning will be a place to talk about it all—and to be supported and strengthened by our Jewish community and tradition. There is no commitment, only to come with an open mind and heart and to talk honestly about what wisdom and connection we might find in this stage of our lives.

We will learn from contemporary Jewish books on this subject (Jewish Wisdom in Aging: Finding Grit & Grace in Midlife). We will learn as well from traditional Jewish texts. Perhaps most importantly, we will share life’s wisdom from the text of our daily lives and experiences.
