Camp TBJ’s Leadership Program

The skills & principles our program promotes:

  • Responsibility, resourcefulness & creative thinking
  • Active participation & involvement with young children
  • Leading by example & becoming a positive role model
  • Developing a positive work ethic & understanding of a work environment

This program includes afternoon teen-centered activities, Mitzvah opportunities, training and ‘Teen Talk’ sessions led by our educators and guest speakers. Sessions range from 2 to 7.5 weeks.

Camp TBJ’s outstanding summer Leadership Programs give preteens and young teens their first opportunity to work with young children, guided by professionals in a warm and friendly Early Childhood Camp environment.

Leaders in Training: 8th & 9th Graders

The LIT program is a leadership experience for 8th & 9th graders, serving as a bridge for becoming full counselors. Through a 7-week program featuring professional development workshops, guest speakers, and immersive activities, LITs develop a professional work ethic and make a lasting impact on our Camp TBJ community!

Preteen Buddies: 6th & 7th Graders

The Preteens will help to cultivate a positive work ethic, and actively engage with young children through structured activities, Mitzvah opportunities, and specialized skill-building workshops.

5th Grade Friends: For aspiring Counselors & Leaders

Designed for our youngest aspiring leaders, this program is a hands-on introduction to the world of camp leadership, blending engaging activities with introductory ‘practice jobs.’ This allows rising 5th graders to build confidence, explore their leadership voices, and serve as positive role models for our campers.
