Congregational Trips to Israel

Israel is at the heart of who we are as a congregation. Our congregation steps up, as we have been called in a multitude of ways, to support and defend our spiritual homeland.  Our connection has only grown deeper in the face of the challenges the last year and a half has brought with it.

We are so proud that more than 150 members of our TBJ community have traveled to Israel since October 2023 (after hundreds have travelled over the past two decades) and we are now actively planning for additional travel opportunities in 2025 and 2026.

See below for more details on our upcoming plans.

December 20-30, 2025
Family Trip

The Family Trip will be designed to suit the specific needs of families with children from Elementary through High School. We will have two tour guides on each bus (one geared towards adults and one geared towards children) to provide the best possible educational, spiritual and social experience for every age group. Our itinerary will include Jerusalem, Masada and the Dead Sea, Tel Aviv and some northern parts of Israel. We will hold a B’nai Mitzvah service atop Masada and bless those who will become B’nai Mitzvah at TBJ within the year of our trip.

This trip will be led by Cantor Fishbein and Rena Abrams.

Adult Trip

The Adult Trip in March 2026 (Flight departing March 7 and arrival March 8) is being designed for both those who have travelled to Israel before, as well as those who are going for the very first time. The itinerary will concentrate on unpacking the different cultures, religious denominations, and political persuasions in our Homeland. We will integrate a fine balance of touring many of the most important parts of Israel, learning, meeting with vital Israeli government officials, socializing as a B’nai Jeshurun community, and, of course, spending time with our partner organizations including those from the Kibbutz Nir Oz community.

This trip will be led by Rabbi Gewirtz.

Spring 2026 (Dates TBA)
Young Professionals

We are exploring running a trip for those between 25-45 who are interested in an Israel experience with other young professionals. This would be an ideal experience for first-time travelers and for those who have been to Israel on other programs such as Birthright or with their families. The purpose of this trip is to experience Israel while also having space for the important conversations about post-October 7th Israel, antisemitism, and what it means for each of us to be Jewish.

This trip will be led by Rabbi Perolman.

This trip is contingent upon interest – click here to put your name on the list.
