K-12 Religious School

“Jewish learning is intended to help us understand ourselves, our communities, and the world around us. Jewish wisdom, traditions, and culture are resources for navigating the joys and challenges in our daily lives, enabling all of us to thrive.”

About the K-12 Religious School

In our Religious School, we aim to expand what is taught in supplementary Jewish education to include deep and significant explorations of self and of others Our innovative Judaic Studies curriculum weaves together the worlds of Jewish wisdom, faith, and spirituality.

We utilize a strengths-based philosophy to build an enduring culture of thriving, well-being, and confidence through dynamic and meaningful experiences that connect the wisdom of Jewish tradition, the power of community and the best in ourselves to impact the world.

For our Kindergarten through 6th grade students, we offer Religious School once a week, either on Sunday mornings or Tuesday afternoons. For teens (7th-12th Grades), we offer a variety of learning opportunities and experiences that aim to provide rich educational and community-building experiences, while remaining flexible to work with their busy schedules.

New This Year for Our K-6 Parents and Guardians

How can Jewish wisdom guide us on our journey as we raise school-aged children? As part of our Continuing Education series, Wise Staging, we are excited to offer opportunities for learning and discussion with our clergy and educators. Watch your email for dates and details in the weekly Religious School cohort newsletters.

7th Grade

Seventh graders are busy middle-schoolers. During this year, students have Religious School, B’nai Mitzvah preparation, and some will also attend the Family B’nai Mitzvah Class. We created this program to offer flexible scheduling, and to introduce the teen program and what comes after B’nai Mitzvah. Until now, we have prescribed the learning with common goals and expected outcomes in mind. While 7th graders are becoming B’nai Mitzvah, now they have the opportunity for agency in personalizing their Jewish Journey and learning about what’s most meaningful to them. We believe that seventh grade, like the B’nai Mitzvah process, is a beginning.

We offer 12 sessions with a variety of schedules and content throughout the year and ask learners to attend 7 or more of these programs. Each 90-minute session consists of programming with clergy, educators, and guest speakers, a meal, and social time. For a more in-depth look, please view our “Introduction to 7th Grade Program” presentation.
