Shabbat Under the Stars

Last Friday, we gathered outdoors in the Perlmutter Family Chapel for a Shabbat Nachamu service, led by Rabbi Karen Glazer Perolman, followed by Shabbat Under the Stars, a concert marking the turn from the sorrow of Tisha B’Av to the comfort and simcha of Shabbat Nachamu.

Cantor Lucy Fishbein and Cantor Beth Reinstein, joined by Matt Turk and our talented musicians, carried that shift through song.

As Cantor Fishbein shared: “Music can hold sadness and hope in the very same breath and carry us from one to the other.”

Under near perfect summer skies, this evening brought together prayer, music, and community in one of TBJ’s most beloved outdoor settings.
